Tudors Indy Nonsuch Park
Tudors with Indy at Nonsuch Park

The awareness day is run by and for users of the park and includes a host of fun and free family activities

This year there will be five zones to visit:

Nature and wildlife Zone:  The Nonsuch Voles will be on hand to share their volunteering experiences and latest projects, along with other nature conservation groups. There is also the opportunity to find out more about bees with the Surrey Beekeepers Association and buy local honey, beeswax candles and other bee produce products.

Friends of Nonsuch Service Wing

History Zone: As part of Heritage Open Weekend and to celebrate the park’s rich history which dates back to the Henry VIII, The Friends of Nonsuch will be offering guided tours of both Nonsuch Mansion House and the Service Wing Museum and Palace Gallery which houses a stunning replica model of now-vanished Nonsuch Palace (described as nonesuch finer, the origin of the park’s name). Guests will be free to explore the formal gardens while interacting with a Tudor characters who will bring history to life.

Dog Zone: Dog owners can get advice on responsible dog ownership and (here’s an incentive you don’t see every day) pick up some free dog waste bags!

Cycling Zone: Free bike check-ups will be on offer as well as advice on all things cycling.

Fitness Zone: The park plays host to a number of fitness activities and a variety of these will be available to sample on the day.

Entrance is free so come along and find out more about Nonsuch Park.

The Centre Arena is packed with displays, including The Black Eagles – acrobats that include a fire limbo sequence in their performance.  That’s on top of a Children’s Corner, Beer Tent, 50 stalls, selling everything from honey to plants, and handbags to cakes, Radio Jackie Roadshow, Funfair, Punch and Judy, a balloon race, coconut shy and hoopla.

It was first started in 1977, and today it’s one of the largest annual local community events. It’s a fun day out for everyone, especially families.  What’s more, with new attractions and more stalls than ever, the Fair has grown year on year – some 6500 people attended in 2016.
