Many thanks to the Nonsuch Voles who completed the drainage and path improvements at the Oak Bridge last week, near the Balancing Pond despite being under attack from horse-flies!
The path up to the bridge should be much drier now and a drainage channel to the main ditch should reduce the amount of water accumulating in the clay soil in this area.
In theory this means the whole area should be less boggy in the winter time.
A Community Country Fair is coming to Nonsuch Park on 25th and 26th June. It will be held in the dog free area of Nonsuch Park, at the London Road gate. (That is the one nearest to the site of Nonsuch Palace)
The organisers Classic Festivals, specialise in organising very traditional Country Shows. They are looking to involve the community, schools, young entrepreneurs, local food and drink producers, craft stalls, a dog show and local Chefs who will put on displays in their Cookery Theatre.
Please contact Classic Festivals either via their website http://www.nonsuchcountryshow.co.uk/ or facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/ShowOrganiser/
More information will follow – but please get the date in your diary, you won’t want to miss it – and spread the word!
If you want to book a stall please email email@example.com she can let you know the costs. Sonia would need to know your space requirements, if you have your own gazebo and what type of stall you are – charity, personal etc. http://www.nonsuchcountryshow.co.uk/

Re the dog show – there’s no pre-registration, just turn up on the day and register.
Nonsuch Junior Parkrun meet every Sunday at 9:00am outside Nonsuch Mansion House. They hold a timed 2km run, for youngsters aged 4 -14.
This Sunday they had a whopping 178 runners on Sunday. Well done everybody.
Nonsuch Parkrun is free! But you do need to register before your first run. You only ever need to register with Parkrun once. But don’t forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode with you when you come for a run.
And now they need our help. Please can you volunteer for just half an hour on a Sunday? They need some people to slip on a hi-viz jacket and do a spot of marshalling, in addition to 2 people to act as tail runners and look after the stragglers.
Email their volunteer co-ordiantor on: firstname.lastname@example.org.
