Sutton Council has agreed to appoint The Landscape Group (TLG), Council on 1st August as their Preferred Bidder for the ‘Lot 2’ services – ie parks, cemeteries and grounds maintenance.
The next stage of the procurement is to commence discussions in September with TLG regarding the use of all depots and exactly how they intend to deploy staff. These discussions will be completed by mid-November, in advance of contract signing in December 2016.
As part of the tender invitation, bidders were offered a number of sites within each borough to lease, and TLG have confirmed that they wish to lease the depots in Cheam Park, Manor Park and Oaks Park
Sutton Council confirmed that Council employees will continue to work out of the depot until 31 January 2017, after which date their employment will transfer to TLG. Following transfer, the depot will continue to host grounds maintenance and parks teams to deliver services on behalf of the Council.
As these sites are classed as open space, Sutton Council are required by statute to publically advertise their intention to ‘dispose’ of the properties via leases via a statutory Notice
– please note this does not mean that Sutton Council are selling the sites, it is purely the legal wording required.
Notices will be appearing in the local press in w/c 22nd August and 29th August
Any resident who wishes to make a representation about any of the leases can do so, within a limited timescale, and the Council will give such representations due consideration.
Sutton Council are hoping to complete this process by the end of September, so that leases can then be prepared ready for contractual completion by the end of November 2016.
